WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE:
Dr. Mike’s Power Cookies are one of the most popular recipes in the 17 Day Diet lifestyle.
They are so versatile that you can have them for breakfast, dessert or a snack – your choice!
The best part? You can customize Dr. Mike’s Power Cookie and make it your own.
So, if you don’t like dried cherries, use any dried fruit you prefer; cranberries, blueberries, raisins, etc.
When you look at the ingredient list, don’t get discouraged. You may see ingredients that aren’t listed on the food list for the 17 Day Diet cycle you’re currently on…that’s ok.
You see, Dr. Mike believes that enjoying treats in moderation is fine. In fact, it helps you stay consistent on the 17 Day Diet.
Remember, this is about a lifestyle change rather than a short-lived diet that would be hard to maintain.
So, mix up a batch of Dr. Mike’s Power Cookies and enjoy these healthy treats.

can I use any other artificial sweetener like nectresse
Hi Dr Mike, I am in C2 and doing really well. I have a question for you about the power cookie. Simmie Sanow on the FB – breakthrough page says the cookie with the cherries is not allowed in C2 and that we don’t need the almond paste. She seems to contradict some things in your breakthrough book. I am curious, who is she? How did she become the go to gal for your book? She runs all the FB sites for your book and is very legalistic when it comes to who can say and do what.
Is she speaking for you? I want to make sure I am following the diet the way you intended.
Sincerely,
Elaine Schmidt
Some corrections in the above incorrect statements about me:
1: I run a 17 Day Diet group, but not all of them, by a longshot.
2: I do not run a Breakthrough group for the 17 Day Diet. The group I run follows the first book only.
3: The group is run strict to the book because that’s how the members want it.
4: The corrections that you see as contradictions came after a phone conversation with Dr. Mike.
5: I do not speak for him and have never claimed to — the group I run follows the first book, with clarifications I personally received from Dr. Mike.
6: Re the cherries: Look at your food list. Cherries are C3. What I have stated about the power cookies is to replace cherries with something else that is allowed in C2.
So when u spoke to dr mike, what was his response about the cherries bc the sesame fish recipe allows sesame seeds n is ok to eat fr cycle 1-4 but yet not on food list for c1
I have done this diet about 5 time alredy in the 5 years i believe, and i always loss weight… in the book it said that u can eat the power cookies on c2. So have a cookie with cherries and enjoy them. Each cookies only as a few cherries, so no big deal…. this diet is common sense it teaches you the way you should eat.
anyone know of a way to make these gluten free???
Try Buckwheat flour or almond flour instead of whole wheat.
I have tried to make the cookies and they are so dry that I can not mix them by hand or mixer. My husband actually mixed them for me by squeezing the ingredients together. What can I do to make them more moist???
I am having trouble finding flaxseed oil in my area. It seems all the stores near me have switched to capsules. Is there anything that can be substituted for flaxseed oil?
can you eat sun flower seed kim
Whole Foods has flaxseed oil or your local health food store
I’m allergic to almonds/all tree nuts (I can have peanuts). What alternates can I use in the power cookies for the almond paste and almonds?
